Ellie has worked in music, performing arts and cultural industries for more than twenty-five years. For nearly eight years she was Executive Director of Pacific Music Industry Association. Today, her O’Day Productions provides promotion, publicity, and consulting to the arts community, primarily in theatre, music and festivals.
She began in Vancouver in the late 70s as the west’s first major market female rock’n’roll DJ, moving on to write for the Georgia Straight through the 80s, and contribute to CBC television and radio. Her degree in Cultural Anthropology has enhanced her interest in music and stories of many cultures. She is a former Chair of the Alliance for Arts and Culture, has been a YWCA mentor, and has previously served as a Director for the PNE, and for such organizations as BC Mensa, Pacific Songwriters, Vancouver Adaptive Music Society, BCFilm, and the Vancouver East Cultural Centre. She was a recipient of Women in the Spotlight 2000.
